Call for participation

Entrepreneurial innovation drives new business creation and corporate innovation strengthens existing business. The South Africa Government has identified innovation as crucial for job creation and enhancing South Africa’s competitiveness in the global economy.

A number of government grants and incentives have been established to encourage innovation through research and development. The talk will discuss some of these, such as the Support Program for Industrial Innovation (SPII), the Partners in Industrial Innovation (PII) fund, and the R&D tax deduction allowance as stipulated in Section 11D of the income tax act.

This talk is presented by Mr T Chipfupa who is the managing director at Cova Advisory and Associates.

About the speaker

Mr Chipfupa is a joint managing director at Cova Advisory & Associates, a consultancy firm that specialises in government grants and incentives. Before founding Cova he was the Deputy Director-General, responsible for the suite of incentives offered by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and was instrumental in the introduction of a number of their major incentives.
