DESCRIPTION:SACAC’s IFAC MMM2019 Author Sponsorships\nIntroduction\nThe 18th Symposium on Mining Mineral and Metal Processing (MMM2019) is one of the most prominent events on the calendar of process control engineers. SACAC is proud to be hosting the symposium from August 28th to 30th in Stellenbosch.  To enable employees and students of SACAC’s industrial or institutional members to participate in this international event\, sponsorship money is made available to send eight SACAC member to the congress. \nThe available sponsorships are: \n\nTwo for Industrial or institutional members\, less than 100 km from Stellenbosch R11\,000 each\nTwo for Industrial or institutional members\, more than 100 km from Stellenbosch R18\,000 each\nTwo for student members\, less than 100 km from Stellenbosch                                 R5\,500 each\nTwo for student members\, more than 100 km from Stellenbosch R12\,500 each\n\nA person is eligible for sponsorship if the person: \n\nis an author of a paper accepted for presentation at MMM2019\nis an employee or student of one of SACAC’s members\, and\nthe SACAC member’s fees are paid in full.\n\nOnly one author per paper can be supported. Presentation of the papers at the congress by the winners is a requisite for support. \nApplication for Sponsorship\nApplication for sponsorship should be addressed to the SACAC Secretariat (secretariat@saca.org.za) and contain the following information: \nPaper submitted to congress \nProof of acceptance of paper \nEmployer details (industrial member)\, or Supervisor details (institutional member) \nKey Dates \nMMM 2019 gives notification of acceptance to authors on    5th May2019 \nThe deadline for applying for SACAC sponsorship is              10th May 2019 \nThe sponsorships will be awarded by                                         17th May 2019 \nThe deadline for final submission of papers and                     24th May 2019\nearly registration is \nAdjudication\nTo avoid conflict of interest between the SACAC Executive Committee and the applicants\, people serving on the Executive Committee may not serve on the adjudicator panel. The panel of adjudicators will be announced on SACAC’s website. Applications for industrial members will be adjudicated by a panel of people selected from SACAC’s institutional members\, and vice versa. Between three and six people from SACAC’s industrial members should serve on the panel evaluating applicants from SACAC’s institutional members\, and between three and six people from SACAC’s institutional members should serve on the panel evaluating applicants from SACAC’s industrial members. \nAdjudication Criteria\nThe panel of adjudicators will select the top articles from the submissions. The aim is to find an article with exceptional content\, rather than simply a well-written article with regular content. The following criteria will be used: \nScope [30%]: \nGeneral or specialized industrial relevance? Relevance to SACAC’s target audience? \nInformation: [40%] \nPotential for industry application? Potential further academic research? \nContent is [30%]: \nIntelligible and non-trivial to professionals in industry
