Venue: University of Pretoria

When: Friday, 16 October 2015

Time: 12:00 – 16:00

The South African Council for Automation and Control is hosting an afternoon seminar on 16 October 2015 at the University of Pretoria to discuss energy optimisation and management issues facing control engineers in South Africa. The recent increase in electricity costs necessitates plants to reduce energy usage without sacrificing the required production throughput and quality. Also, since the availability of electricity is no longer consistent and reliable, plant operation needs to accommodate possible downtime. The aim of the seminar is to share recent advances and success stories in energy optimisation and load shedding management through control. The seminar will conclude with an open discussion on current trends, future difficulties and possible solutions to common problems.
